Conflict Arises Between Aides of Atiku and Makinde Regarding Tinubu

In a series of unfolding events at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, Mr. Phrank Shaibu, the Special Assistant on Public Communication to Atiku Abubakar, has made startling allegations against two prominent governors. He claimed that former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, were engaged in constant monitoring of judges, even as the tribunal neared the conclusion of its activities.

Governor Makinde's Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, was quick to respond to the accusations, dismissing them as a mere product of someone's imagination. On the other hand, Mr. Kelvin Ebiri, an aide to Governor Wike, opted not to provide any comments on the matter.

However, Shaibu, unyielding in his stance, released a statement in Abuja, reiterating his allegations against the two governors. He found it intriguing that Governor Makinde and Governor Wike had traveled to Plateau State to attend a memorial service organized by the President of the Appeal Court, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, despite allegedly not receiving invitations to the event. The occasion, meant to be solemn and respectful, was, according to Shaibu, "polluted" by the presence of these "busybody interlopers."

Expanding further on the accusations, Atiku's aide claimed that Governor Wike had been utilizing questionable tactics to befriend judges, presenting them with gifts under the guise of welfare. This latest visit to an event hosted by the President of the Appeal Court, Shaibu suggested, might be yet another attempt to influence the appellate court where the current tribunal judges were selected from.

Shaibu delved into the past actions of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, making a reference to a statement he made several months earlier, expressing his satisfaction with Governor Makinde's association with the "renegade governors" known as the G5. Furthermore, the CJN's presence at the commissioning of Governor Makinde's lodge in Abuja added fuel to the fire, raising suspicions of potential biases.

The Special Assistant further asserted that there were rumors suggesting that the next attorney-general would be a relative of the CJN, implying that this could be a part of an elaborate plan to manipulate the outcome of the election petition tribunal.

As the controversy unfolded, the nation watched with bated breath, awaiting further developments in what could be a significant test of the integrity and independence of the judiciary. The gravity of these allegations warranted a thorough investigation to ensure the sanctity of the legal process and maintain public trust in the country's governance.

It remains to be seen how the concerned parties will respond to these serious accusations and what actions, if any, will be taken to address the concerns raised by Mr. Phrank Shaibu. As the drama unfolded, the nation's eyes were fixed on the unfolding events at the tribunal, realizing that the outcome could have far-reaching implications for the nation's political landscape.
