Ministerial List: Eze Cautions Tinubu Against Appointing Wike as Minister

In a candid and impassioned statement, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, the erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct nPDP, has spoken out about the appointment powers of President Bola Tinubu. Chief Eze acknowledged that President Tinubu holds the exclusive prerogative to appoint any Nigerian into his cabinet. However, he also underscored the need for caution, especially when it comes to considering the former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

In Chief Eze's view, Nyesom Wike is a self-centered and ambitious politician whose leadership style revolves around pursuing personal vendettas, a quality that poses a severe threat to any organization involving humans. According to Chief Eze, the All Progressives Congress (APC) prides itself on being a party rooted in democratic principles and the rule of law, and Wike's brand of politics is fundamentally opposed to progress.

Chief Eze believes that Wike's past actions have brought global embarrassment to Nigeria, and in more developed nations, individuals like him would face serious consequences for their numerous misdeeds. He claims that Wike's interest in joining the APC is likely driven by ulterior motives, given his history of engaging in clandestine activities.

Regarding the possibility of President Tinubu appointing Wike as a Minister, Chief Eze firmly expresses that such a decision would be a grave political mistake. He argues that Nigerians have high expectations for the President and that Wike falls short of the caliber of people needed to meet those expectations. In Chief Eze's assessment, Wike's eight-year tenure as Governor of Rivers State failed to attract foreign investments, and the state experienced minimal growth under his leadership.

Chief Eze criticizes Wike's focus on building overhead bridges for popularity while neglecting critical areas that required attention to foster the state's growth. He highlights the abandoned Mother and Child Hospital and the Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Diagnosis and Treatment Center as examples of Wike's unfulfilled promises and wasteful spending of state resources.

The ex-publicity secretary also raises concerns about corruption allegations against Wike, including his involvement in a case with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over embezzlement during his time as Education Minister under the Jonathan administration.

Moreover, Chief Eze contends that Wike's potential appointment as a Minister could suggest that President Tinubu had a hand in the decimation of the APC in Rivers State over the past eight years. According to him, Wike allegedly used state resources and the judiciary to suppress the party and dealt with its members during political crises.

Chief Eze concludes by cautioning that Wike's appointment to a ministerial position would not only insult APC members but also be a betrayal to those who had worked tirelessly to build and sustain the party in Rivers State. He warns that if Wike could dismantle the powerful People's Democratic Party (PDP), taking on Tinubu and the APC would be an even easier task for him.

With a foreboding tone, Chief Eze suggests that Wike may use his position to undermine the APC and President Tinubu, drawing from his history of disregarding and confronting political figures who had supported him in the past. He hints at the year 2027 as a possible timeframe for Wike's plans, implying that he might be strategizing for that moment to execute his potential disruptive actions.

In conclusion, Chief Eze's strong opinions shed light on the complex political dynamics involving President Tinubu's appointment powers, the potential inclusion of Nyesom Wike in the cabinet, and the implications it could have on the APC and Nigerian politics at large.
