Samsung Offers a Sneak Peek at Upcoming Foldable Phones, Smartwatches, and Tablets

Samsung is preparing for its upcoming Unpacked event, an eagerly awaited showcase where they will reveal their latest generation of foldable phones, smartwatches, and tablets. While specific product names remain undisclosed, reports suggest that Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. This time, the focus appears to be on the Flip clamshell design, which is rumored to include an expanded front screen to rival devices like Motorola's Razr+. Both the Flip and Fold models are expected to incorporate a "waterdrop" hinge, leading to a slimmer profile and a reduced gap when the devices are closed.

In addition to the foldable phones, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 6 during the event. Speculations indicate the possibility of a Classic or Pro version of the smartwatch, reintroducing the physical rotating bezel that has been popular among users.

Samsung's latest premium Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab S9, is also anticipated to make an appearance at the event. The tablet is rumored to be available in base, plus, and ultra versions, featuring upgraded screens and potentially even IP67 dust and water protection.

For tech enthusiasts looking forward to the event, Samsung will be streaming the Unpacked event live on their YouTube channel on the 26th of July at 7 AM ET. Alternatively, those who prefer a concise summary can follow live coverage of the event as it unfolds.

In other news, the tech community mourns the passing of Kevin Mitnick, a former notorious computer hacker who was once on the FBI's most-wanted list. Mitnick's hacking activities date back to 1979, but he was eventually convicted in 1988 for copying a company's software. During the '90s, he continued his hacking exploits while evading authorities. However, after serving his prison sentence, Mitnick completely transformed his career, becoming a White Hat hacker and cybersecurity consultant.

In the realm of streaming services, YouTube Premium recently announced a price increase, raising the monthly subscription by $2 to $14, and the annual plan from $120 to $140. This comes after a price hike for the family Premium plan last year.

Lastly, Google is reportedly testing a new AI technology called Genesis, designed to generate news articles. Executives from major news outlets, such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, and News Corp, have been given a glimpse of the tool. While Genesis has the potential to automate certain tasks for journalists, concerns have been raised about the accuracy and reliability of machine-written articles.

With all these developments in the tech world, Samsung's Unpacked event promises to be an exciting occasion, showcasing their latest foldable phones, smartwatches, and tablets. Stay tuned for further updates on these much-anticipated devices.
