The Lagos Division of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is determined to eliminate oil theft within the region.
In a resolute stance to combat the menace of oil theft, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, declared its unwavering commitment to cleanse the state of these illicit activities. Mr. Usman Alfadarai, the esteemed State Commandant of the NSCDC, passionately reaffirmed this vow during an exclusive interview with the prestigious News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in the bustling city of Lagos.
The Commander's unwavering determination came on the heels of a recent operation that culminated in the apprehension of eight suspected oil thieves. These individuals were captured red-handed while attempting to transport petroleum products, suspected to be adulterated diesel, in the Ajah area of the state. The audacity and sheer scale of their operation were astonishing, as they were found operating with a boat laden with 13 industrial tanks, each brimming with 1000 liters of stolen diesel. Additionally, the culprits had 50 drums stashed onboard, with each container filled to the brim with 200 liters of the illicit fuel.
With a deep sense of responsibility towards the nation's prosperity and development, Mr. Usman Alfadarai emphasized that the actions of these oil thieves mirrored an audacious attempt to divert the country's valuable resources for personal gains. Their criminal activities posed a significant threat to the nation's growth, a grave injustice that the NSCDC vowed to confront head-on.
In a proactive approach to safeguarding critical infrastructure and protecting the nation's interests, the State Commandant announced the implementation of round-the-clock surveillance. Every vital installation in the state would be under the watchful eye of the NSCDC, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This robust monitoring system aimed to detect any suspicious activities promptly and nip them in the bud, preventing any potential damage to the nation's assets.
Mr. Alfadarai left no room for ambiguity as he asserted that the NSCDC would not shield criminals or cover up their illicit actions. On the contrary, the organization would actively cooperate with relevant authorities, ensuring that all perpetrators of such crimes face thorough investigations and appropriate prosecution. This collaborative approach underscored the NSCDC's commitment to upholding justice and maintaining the rule of law, essential pillars for a thriving and secure society.
In line with the command's proactive strategies, Mr. Alfadarai revealed that the NSCDC would take decisive steps to block any escape routes that criminals might exploit to evade justice. By doing so, the organization aimed to significantly impede the activities of oil thieves and dismantle their nefarious networks, leaving them with no room to maneuver within the state's boundaries.
The NSCDC's dedication to eradicating oil theft and preserving the nation's resources was evident in Mr. Alfadarai's resolute words. His vision for a secure and prosperous Lagos State resonated with every citizen, fostering a sense of hope and renewed faith in the collective efforts to build a better, safer Nigeria.
As the interview concluded, it was evident that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, under the leadership of Mr. Usman Alfadarai, stood as an unwavering guardian, resolute in its mission to protect the nation's wealth and ensure a promising future for generations to come.
