Tinubu Withdraws Support from Shetty, Proposes Festus Keyamo as Ministerial Candidate

President Bola Tinubu has made a significant change to the list of Ministerial nominees from Kano State, removing Dr. Maryam Shetty from the lineup that was scheduled for screening today. The announcement was made in a letter presented to the Senate by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, who revealed that Dr. Shetty's position has been replaced by Mairiga Mahmoud.

In addition to this alteration, President Tinubu has also nominated the immediate past Minister of Labour and Productivity, Festus Keyamo, SAN, from Delta State, for screening by the Senate. This move brings the total number of Ministerial Nominees to forty-eight, as both Dr. Shetty and Festus Keyamo join the list of esteemed candidates put forward by the President last Wednesday.

This unexpected change in the nominees has raised curiosity among political observers, and many are closely following the screening process to see how these new developments will unfold. As the Senate undertakes its responsibility to scrutinize the candidates, the nation eagerly awaits the final confirmation of the new Ministerial appointees who will serve in critical roles within the government.
